What Is Confined Space Training?

Confined Space Training is a certified training designed to prepare individuals to work safely in environments not meant for long-term human occupancy. Places like tunnels, silos, tanks, and sewers can be extremely dangerous due to risks like flooding, toxic air, or limited exits.

This course teaches participants how to prepare for, work in, and exit confined spaces safely. It also ensures compliance with Australian safety and regulatory laws.

The training helps professionals understand crucial topics like:

  • Identifying hazards and conducting risk assessments

  • Atmosphere testing and monitoring

  • Proper use of PPE and breathing apparatus

  • Following Australian safety standards and best practices outlined in RIIWHS202E

Confined Space Safety Course Overview

The duration of our Confined Space Training in Perth WA is 8 hours (1-day course).

We cover the essential requirements of AS2865, what your legal obligations are, and how to remain competent and qualified to enter and work in confined spaces.

All students will enter a confined space or an enclosed or partially enclosed area safely under an issued permit to conduct work. They will conduct a confined space entry using gas testing detectors, tripods, harnesses, Milan power devices, and operate ventilation equipment. We fill the space with smoke to help students see how it all works in the real world.

There are no pre-requisites to do this course. However, you may also want to consider taking a Working at Heights course. It covers essential topics like ropes, harnesses, and anchorage systems, which can help make confined space entry safer.
